What I’ve Been Up Too…

mindmap1Lately I’ve been busy concentrating on building a new business online. In fact I have a couple of things going right now. Since my wife and I closed our t-shirt printing business of 14 years, I’ve been researching the Internet for an online business to start. My goals are to provide the both of us, the income that we lost from closing our business and the lost from our 401K that fell victim to a bad economy.

I think it’s time to lay the foundation for a new venture and prove that a conventional business is not the only way to earn an income. This business will also provide my wife and I an income to supplement our retirement. Through the research that I did, my direction will be towards Affiliate Marketing and Designing WordPress Themes and WP Plug-in. I started a mindmap to keep me focused on my goals and a step by step plan that I’ll follow to give my business the momentum that I will need to keep it moving forward.

This is just an update to inform my readers what direction I’m headed in and I’ll post my activities on this site as my business grows. I’ll be creating a page on this site with graphic designs for you to use if you have a web site. It’s F.R.E.E.! Aloha till my next post!

The 789 Chevy

789chevyI got an email from my son a couple of days ago and in that email I had pictures of a custom car named 789. This custom made car was designed by Kanter Concepts out of Santa Ana California. The concept and creation was inspired by 3 classic cars, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air which is the front end, a 1958 Chevy Impala which makes up the mid section and interior of the car and finally a 1959 Chevy tail section and the very recognizable tailfins of the 59 Chevy. These are world classic cars.

These cars will always remain classic’s. The 789 has that fifty’s style with the latest technology and engineering safety features. Speed and performance are exceptional with a top speed of 190 mph and 25 miles per gallon on the highways.

The 789 is built on a C6 Corvette frame and drive train. It comes with a 400 horsepower aluminum block v8 engine accommodated with a custom Borla exhaust system, PST high performance anti-sway bars and a $2000 wheel and tire upgrade. The 789 Chevy also comes with a tri-color interior. The turnkey price, $135,000.

If I could afford it, I would buy the 789 for my retirement present.

Peace Out!

WordPress Newbie Goes Wild!

healthy150x150Starting a new Word Press Blog can be intimidating if you’re a newbie. It’s even more intimidating if you were to get into code hacking and customizing your blog. With all the Word Press plug-in and themes to choose from it could be a little over whelming for a person who is just starting to blog. In my opinion as a newbie, Word Press is the way to go. Steady Growth In Kapolei!

costco1501Kapolei has been steadily growing with Costco, Target, Petco and Sports Authority having their grand openings this past weekend. My wife and I took a drive to Safeway and took a couple of pictures on the way home. I’m excited about all of the growth that’s happening out here during these hard times. The openings of these new companies provided a lot of jobs that are badly needed out here on the west side of Oahu.

It’s nice to see that the parking lot was crowded and lot of shoppers spending money tonight. I just hope that our economy starts to get better. The experts are saying that it’s going to get worse before it gets better. I’m hoping that their wrong! Well, I don’t like the doom and gloom reports so I’m going to end this on a positive note. This is great news! More jobs for West Oahu… Construction on $500M West Oahu complex expected to start in 2010. Click the link: $500M West Oahu Complex

twitter2One of the best social tools created, that rapidly gained popularity in a short period of time. Twitter is a mini-blog that let its users post as much as 140 characters to its followers. Followers could be friends, family, business acquaintance or people who find your tweets interesting.

Since the conception of twitter there have been many other additions’s to complement the mini-blog idea. From twitter locators, twitpics twitter groups, twitter grader, twitter feed and most recent, bubble tweet which adds a 30 second video bubble that appears on your twitter page, delivers your message and disappears. Twitter is a great idea for your social pleasure.

Socializing, interacting and providing useful updates can create a lot of people following you. Twitter is also used for networking, latest news updates and all sorts of information that you can provide to your followers within your 140 character limitation. The key here is to add value to your tweets. Oh yes, there are boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed and you will see people spamming but it’s easy to solve that problem, “UNFOLLOW”!

Relationship building can be a great experience using Twitter. What better way to meet new friends and build a relationship. It’s almost like a forum, participate add value and build relationships. A lot of local tweet-ups are popping up all over the place. People are organizing tweet-ups to get together over lunch or a drink and socialize, take pictures or videos and add to their blogs.

Marketing with twitter can be another avenue to pursue as long as you’re careful the way you present yourself. Trying to sell and push your marketing to your followers will only turn them off, which could lead them to unfollow you. Twitter is a free tool to use and can be a marketers dream come true if you build relationships. Twitter is a Hugh community of friendly people.

Diamond Head…

dh-thnailThis picture of Diamond Head (Le’ahi) was taken from Lagoon Drive the south side of Honolulu International Airport. One of Hawaii’s famous landmarks, Diamond Head is known for it’s beautiful costal views and hiking trail. The hiking trail to the summit was built in 1908 as part of Oahu’s coastal defense system. It’s just one of Hawaii’s most visited trails. Its English name was given by British sailors in the 19th century, who mistook calcite crystals embedded in the rock for diamonds.

I’m no photographer but I just bought myself a digital camera to take snapshots for my new blog. This is one of my first pictures that I took and I’m sure it will get better and more interesting as I gain more experience through my persistence.
